Teaching Philosophy
As a dance teacher, I strive to make all my students feel included. I believe that dance classes create community, and you can't have a genuine community without inclusion. To me this looks like making sure each student knows they are welcome as they come, they don't have to do anything that makes them uncomfortable, and that modifications can be made. My goal is to make dance a safe space for everyone. I want each student to know they bring something unique to the table and that is something that should be celebrated. I focus on technique, while maintaining an equal focus on wellbeing. I believe that dancers should be able to enjoy dance and grow within it. Additionally, I want my students to be able to improve at their own rate and without being knocked down to get to where they want to be.
